Who We Are

As Michigan’s premier industry association for the cannabis industry, the MICIA advocates for a favorable policy environment in which cannabis can thrive. Our focus on key advocacy points helps keep ourselves and our stakeholders informed of the path we’re taking to create a better cannabis industry.

Executive Director—

Robin Schneider

Robin Schneider has more than 10 years’ experience advocating on cannabis issues. She is the former executive director of the National Patient Rights Association where she helped medical marijuana patients advocate for state laws that ensure safe access to medicine. Most recently, Robin served as the finance director for the Coalition to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol, the organization that led the 2018 Proposal 1 campaign to legalize adult use cannabis for Michigan adults 21 years and older.

Deputy Director—

Ida Lee

Ida spent 5 years advocating for safe access to medical cannabis in Michigan after she discovered it could provide relief to her daughter who was diagnosed with 1P36 Deletion Syndrome. As Deputy Director Ida is responsible for overseeing the associations daily operations, staffing, patient advocacy, as well as membership services and relations. Ida works with our membership to make sure they have the tools they need to ensure their patients are receiving the best possible care. For many, not having access to cannabis is life threatening and Ida knows first hand that every patient deserves the best quality of life possible.

Business Development Director—

Isaiah Roberts

Isaiah Roberts  has spent three years in education reform lobbying under Lindsay Huddleston at StudentsFirst.  After interning for the Michigan Department of Education he realized his passion extended far passed education reform and more for patient advocacy after becoming a patient in 2015. Now as the Business Development Director Isaiah manages social media as well as improving the Michigan Cannabis industry Associations discount program for all members. Isaiah Is passionate about addressing social justice issues and partnering with members to make resources around social equity more accessible to the public. His other passions includes combating racial injustice and music production.

Marketing Director—

Zariah Schneider

Zariah Schneider earned her Bachelors of Art in Advertising with a creative concentration and Graphic Design Minor at Michigan State University. She has worked with non-profits in the music and respite care industries as a creative. As the Marketing Director Zariah develops content for our print and web media.
